priyankaFrom signing multiple movie contracts and with enough endorsements in her kitty, the current box office favourite Priyanka Chopra took time out for the promotion of a mobile company.

Dressed in white and denim, the actress took time out in Delhi to understand the new technology that a mobile company has come out with.

“See basically if you have two numbers like I do, both can be kept in the same mobile, that way I can save money on roaming too,” said Priyanka.

For someone who loses her phone very often Priyanka’s brother has a message for her.

“I lose so many phones that my brother says the Rs 990 phone is what you deserve,” she laughs.

But she had a confession to make that when it comes to gizmos she is far from perfect.

Priyanka Chopra says she can’t imagine living without her parents but at the same time she wants her own private space. That is why the actress has bought two connecting flats so that she can enjoy the best of both.

She is taking great interest in the construction and design of her new home. In fact, one reason why she hasn’t signed any films is because she earlier could never find the time to get her new place ready.

‘And it’s now or never. It will be ready during Diwali. It will be two connecting flats, just like it was earlier on. My family would be staying in one flat while I’d be staying in the other. They’ve always given me my privacy. I’d never be comfortable without my parents by my side,’ Priyanka told IANS.

Hrithik Roshan’s wife Susanne is doing up her two new flats.

‘It’s the first time I’m moving into a new place after I moved into Mumbai. And so far I’ve had no opportunity to do up my place the way I always wanted to. If you come to my house at the moment you’ll see it’s very functional.’

But now comes Priyanka’s dream house.

‘Having a friend to do the interiors helps a lot. Susanne and I are doing it up the way I had always visualised my home. My parents are going to be just a door away. I always want my life to be this way, with my family at a place where I can reach out and touch them.’

Just like her home, the actress built her career with utmost care and in a very short span become one of the most sought after in Bollywood. She has given hits like ‘Aitraaz’, ‘Bluffmaster’, ‘Krrish’ and ‘Don’.

Now Priyanka is looking forward to her next releases - action movie ‘Drona’ which sees her as Abhishek Bachchan’s bodyguard and sci-fi flick ‘Love Story 2050′.

Before becoming Miss India World and later becoming Miss World 2000 Priyanka had walked the ramp as a model and that made her a great choice for Madhur Bhandarkar’s next project that dwells on the darker side of a career in modeling.

The film titled, Fashion Show: The Ugly Side of Beautiful People, is being bankrolled by UTV with whom Priyanka recently signed a three-film contract worth Rs.4 to 5 crores.

Also in the film is Kangana Ranaut, who has the looks and demeanor of a model and with whom UTV has a similar three film contract.

Under the UTV contract both Priyanka and Kangana enjoy artistic freedom and the two decided to sign up only because they felt the roles suited them well.

Many supermodels are also expected to feature in the film though Priyanka Chopra will play the lead.

Madhur Bhandarkar, who has so far done low budget critically acclaimed films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Corporate and Traffic Signal in the recent past, is venturing into the big league with Fashion which is budgeted at Rs 20 Crores.

Madhur has yet to finish the first screen play and is understandably reluctant to talk about the cast or the roles.

The film is expected to hit the floors on 15 September and lavish runways are being erected at Nitin Desai’s Studios in Karjat.

Rohit Bal has been signed up as the fashion consultant for the film and will also make a special appearance in the film.

priyanka chopra Priyanka Chopra, the current flavour of Bollywood, turns 25 on July 18 and this year, for the first time, she is planning to throw a party for her family and close friends.

This is the first time the actress is throwing a party on her birthday since she has joined Bollywood.

“That’s true. I’ve never had any kind of party ever since I came into this industry. Friends keep teasing me about it. I’m not a party person. Believe it or not, I’m shy of crowds. Also, the past few years have hardly given me reason to feel like celebrating,” says Priyanka, whose voice gets distant as she recalls her father’s serious illness.

“Yeah, I’m having a birthday party for the first time. Not a huge one. Just 40-50 close friends and family. That’s all.

“I can’t believe how much time has passed. I’m suddenly feeling old. Seriously. Professionally, I’ve no reason to complain. At home we’ve gone through some turbulent times. Hopefully, we’re out of it,” she said.

Priyanka’s brother Siddharth also turns a year older this week.

“My brother Siddharth celebrates his birthday on July 12 while my birthday is six days later,” Priyanka said.

So will there be a joint celebration for the Chopra siblings?

“I’d love to have one. But Siddharth is turning 18 and he wants to bring in his birthday in a big way with his friends. So he will have a big party of his own.”

Baweja is leaving no stones unturned to ensure the best for his son Harman’s acting debut in the film. Baweja has signed up some international special and visual effects, including Oscar-winner John Cox. Cox, who bagged an Oscar in the Best Effects, Visual Effects category for Babe, and his team is working on creating a futuristic Mumbai of 2050.

“I believe it’s the first time that an Oscar winner special effects director is working for a Hindi film,” says Baweja proudly. He short-listed Cox after meeting several other experts from the United States, United Kingdom and Australia.

“I wanted the best in the business. Besides, John and I hit off very well right from the start,” he adds. It’s believed that Cox will be paid $ 1 million.

Currently, Cox’s team is in the city to execute the animatronics sequences, the work for which started on Tuesday. “A lot of computer graphics will be used to create Mumbai of 2050,” says Baweja.

“Four teams will be working on the project. Since John’s specialization is animatronics, he’ll be extensively working on that.” Interestingly, two robots will also feature as important characters in the film.

As for the cost, Love Story 2050 is expected to cost Rs 35 crore, out of which about Rs 15-20 crore will be spent for the special effects alone.

What is animatronic? An animatronic is a mechanized puppet. It may be preprogrammed or remotely controlled. The animatronic may perform a limited range of movements or it may be incredibly versatile, depending on the requirement.
